The traditional Greeks were the first people to have showers. Their aqueducts and sewage methods fabricated from lead pipes allowed water to be pumped each into and out of large communal bathe rooms used by elites and common citizens alike. These rooms have been found on the site of the city Pergamum and can also be discovered represented in pottery of the era. The depictions are similar to trendy locker room showers, and even included bars to hold up clothing. The traditional Romans also followed this conference; their well-known bathhouses (Thermal) will be discovered all around the Mediterranean and as far out as trendy-day England. The Romans not solely had these showers but also believed in bathing multiple instances a week, if not each day. The water and sewage methods developed by the Greeks and Romans broke down and fell out of use after the fall of the Roman Empire. The first mechanical bathe, operated by a hand pump, was patented in England in 1767 by William Bentham, a range maker from Ludgate Hill in London. His bathe contraption used a pump to power the water into a vessel above the person's head and a sequence would then be pulled to release the water from the vessel.
